The trial of the American foundation representative accused in the “NGO Case” begins

The trial of Mehriban Rahimli, a consultant for the German Marshall Fund of the United States on Azerbaijan, has begun. According to APA, the criminal case has been sent to the Baku Court of Grave Crimes.
The case has been transferred to Judge Namig Kerimov. The preparatory hearing is scheduled for February 11.
It should be noted that Mehriban Rahimli was brought into the criminal investigation in the “NGO Case” initiated by the Prosecutor General’s Office last March. She has been placed under police supervision for the duration of the investigation.
As a reminder, the Investigative Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office has opened a criminal case under Articles 192.2.2, 213.1, 308.2, and other articles of the Criminal Code regarding the activities of several non-governmental organizations in Azerbaijan, and a preliminary investigation is underway. The criminal case is investigating violations of the law in the work of several NGOs, their leaders, and branches and representative offices of foreign non-governmental organizations.
