Azerbaijan’s Cyber ​​Police expose hackers creating phishing pages for banks and non-bank credit institutions

The Main Cybercrime Department of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) conducted a special operation against hackers who were committing online fraud under the guise of loan offers.

According to Oxu.az citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the attackers created phishing copies of the official websites of banks and non-bank credit institutions, then posted ads on social media offering loans with supposedly favorable terms and low interest rates.

During the operation, 23-year-old Kanan Gasimov and 30-year-old Imam Ishmamedov were detained. They conspired to defraud approximately 500 people.
