A preparatory hearing has been held in the criminal case investigated by the State Security Service of Azerbaijan against Turalbey Mehdiyev, who is accused of treason at the behest of foreign organizations. As reported by Oxu.Az, during a hearing at the Baku Grave Crimes Court, chaired by Judge Firdovsi Aliyev, the defendant’s personal information was clarified and a decision was made to refer the case for trial.
The next hearing is scheduled for February 17.
T. Mehdiyev has been charged under Articles 274 (treason), 281.3 (open calls against the state, committed at the behest of foreign organizations and their representatives), and 283.1 (open incitement to national, racial, social, or religious hatred and enmity, including through the use of mass media) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
