A man detained for embezzling a large sum of money under the guise of employment

Police in Sumgayit have detained a man accused of fraud against an acquaintance, Oxu.Az reports. The victim contacted law enforcement and reported that the acquaintance had promised to help him find employment but instead embezzled 11,500 manat.

During the investigation, officers from the 4th Precinct of the Sumgayit City Police Department identified and detained 68-year-old J. Akhmedov, a suspect in the crime.

The investigation is ongoing.
