Officers from the Binagadi District Police Department conducted a successful operation, resulting in the arrest of 22-year-old Gadzhizaynal Gadzhiyev. The young man is suspected of orchestrating a complex fraudulent scheme on social media: he created exact copies (clones) of the official pages of non-bank credit institutions (NBCIs) and lured citizens with promises of loans at very low interest rates, Oxu.Az reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The investigation revealed that, using this method, the perpetrator deceived numerous citizens, embezzling large sums of money.
Under the pretext of “paperwork” or “issuance fees,” citizens voluntarily transferred various amounts of money to the fraudster. Immediately after receiving the funds and data, the detainee, in an attempt to evade responsibility, blocked all his accounts and communication channels.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs once again issues a strong warning to the public. Citizens should exercise extreme caution when seeing online advertisements with headlines like “online earnings,” “easy income,” or “favorable loans” with terms significantly different from market rates. For financial security, it is strictly forbidden to click suspicious links or send bank card information to strangers or unverified websites. If you encounter such situations, you must immediately notify law enforcement agencies.
