A member of an international criminal organization sentenced

The trial of Sanan Rahimli, accused of membership in a criminal organization established outside the Republic of Azerbaijan, brought by the State Security Service, has concluded in Baku. According to oxu.az, the final hearing was held at the Baku Grave Crimes Court under the presidency of Judge Nigar Imanova. Following the trial, the verdict was read.
According to the verdict, the defendant was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
It should be noted that the final charge against S. Rahimli was brought under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan: 12.1 218.2 (participation in a criminal community (organization), or in an association of organizers, leaders or other representatives of organized groups, outside of Azerbaijan) and Article 283-1.3 (participation in armed conflicts outside the Republic of Azerbaijan with the aim of disseminating religious teachings, under the guise of performing religious rites, or on the basis of religious hatred, religious radicalism or religious fanaticism).
