Internationally wanted citizens extradited to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani citizens who were placed on the internationally wanted list have been extradited to their homeland, Oxu.Az reports, citing the Prosecutor General’s Office.

It is noted that in accordance with the requirements of the Convention of October 7, 2002, “On Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family, and Criminal Matters,” the requests of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan for the extradition of our citizens—Rauf Aliyev and Natig Akhmedov—were granted by the Prosecutor General’s Offices of Russia and Kazakhstan, respectively.

In criminal cases investigated by the Binagadi District Police Department, reasonable suspicions were established that Rauf Aliyev committed fraud causing significant damage, and Natig Akhmedov committed repeated fraud causing significant damage.

As a result, both were charged, after which they fled the investigation and were placed on the international wanted list. Following investigative operations, R. Aliyev was detained in Russia, and N. Akhmedov in Kazakhstan. They were transported to Azerbaijan under a special escort from the Ministry of Justice’s Penitentiary Service.
