Operation in Khazar District: drug dealers arrested

Officers from the Khazar District Police Department conducted another operation to combat the illegal trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances, Oxu.Az reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan. During the operation, suspects in the crime were detained: 33-year-old Hagverdi Akhmedli, 35-year-old Mahir Akhmedov, and his brother, 26-year-old Elkhan.

A total of 10 kg 896 grams of marijuana were found in their possession.

It was established that the detainees purchased the prohibited substances for sale from an Iranian citizen, whose identity is being established by the investigation.

According to information received by the website’s editorial staff, Mahir and Elkhan Akhmedov are brothers, and Hagverdi Akhmedli is their cousin.

A criminal case has been opened on this fact and an investigation is underway.
