The trial of a State Tourism Agency employee completed

The trial of Nijat Huseynov, an employee of the State Tourism Agency arrested last March, has concluded. According to oxu.az, the court sentenced him to one year and six months of restricted freedom for abuse of office.

He was accused of distributing a document contained in a closed electronic document flow between government agencies while serving as chief consultant in the Education and Training Sector of the Tourism Policy and Strategy Department of the State Tourism Agency.

Nijat Huseynov, who abused his official powers and caused significant damage to the legally protected interests of the state, was detained by the State Security Service on March 4, 2025.

It is noted that several days before Nijat Huseynov’s arrest, a decree from the President of Azerbaijan severely reprimanded Fuad Nagiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, for violations in his work.

Furthermore, Kanan Gasimov, Chief of Staff of the State Tourism Agency, and Muhammad Muradov, Head of the Tourism Policy and Strategy Department, were suspended from their positions.
