The court dismissed the former diplomat’s cassation appe

The Supreme Court of Azerbaijan heard the cassation appeal against the verdict against former diplomat Emin Ibrahimov, accused of stabbing him, oxu.az reports. At the hearing, the decision was announced, dismissing the defendant’s appeal.

According to the indictment, the incident occurred on July 22, 2024, in the Nizami district of Baku. Emin Ibrahimov, suspected of stabbing Kamal Shukurov, was prosecuted under Articles 126.2.4 (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm for hooligan motives) and 221.3 (hooliganism committed with the use of a weapon or objects used as a weapon, if accompanied by violence against the victim) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

The Baku Court of Grave Crimes sentenced Ibrahimov to seven years in prison. His appeal was dismissed.
