A drug courier with 51 kg of marijuana detained

The Main Anti-Drug Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Azerbaijan detained a man with a large quantity of marijuana and methadone, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs. As a result of the operation conducted by the Main Anti-Drug Department, Fuad Hasanov, previously convicted of organizing the distribution of potent psychotropic drugs, was detained.

51 kg 555 grams of marijuana laced with psychotropic components and 2,999 methadone tablets were seized from Hasanov’s vehicle and from a stash house set up in Baku.

During interrogation, it was revealed that the detainee intended to distribute the drugs to several locations in the capital on behalf of an Iranian citizen.

A criminal case has been opened. The court has ordered Hasanov’s pretrial detention.

Investigative actions are ongoing.
