A fake journalist who extorted money from businessmen arrested

Shahriar Hasanzade, who posed as a television channel employee and extorted money from business representatives under the threat of disseminating incriminating materials, has been arrested in Lankaran, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service.

He contacted officials of various companies and organizations, claiming to have prepared a report that could damage their business reputation.

In exchange for not disclosing these materials on television and social media, the perpetrator demanded various sums of money.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that the investigation into Hasanzade’s illegal actions is ongoing.
