Four accused of treason sentenced to in prison

The Baku Military Court has concluded the trial of a group of four individuals accused of treason, investigated by the State Security Service (SSS), Oxu.Az reports. During the trial, the defendants, Ilkin Ganbarov, Vusal Agayev, Tural Aliyev, and Mammad Sharifov, were sentenced to 18 years in prison for Ilkin Ganbarov and Vusal Agayev, and 17 years and 6 months for T. Aliyev and M. Sharifov.

It should be noted that Ilkin Ganbarov and Vusal Agayev, accused of treason through espionage with the assistance of representatives of a foreign intelligence service, were detained and brought into custody as a result of measures taken by the SSS.

During the operations conducted by the State Security Service, Tural Aliyev was detained in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and Mammad Sharifov was detained in the Republic of Turkey. They were transferred to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

They are charged under Article 274 (high treason) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
