The trial of Jasarat Gasimov, acting notary of the Beylagan district, accused of embezzlement on an especially large scale, has concluded.
According to Oxu.Az, the verdict was announced at a hearing of the Lankaran Court of Grave Crimes, chaired by Judge Javid Safarli. According to the ruling, Gasimov was sentenced to five years and six months of suspended imprisonment with a one-year probationary period.
According to the investigation, while serving in the above-mentioned position, Gasimov committed forgery and embezzled a total of 308,530 manats. During the investigation, he was placed under police supervision as a preventive measure. The injured party was fully compensated for the damages.
J. Gasimov was charged under Articles 179.3.2 (embezzlement or misappropriation committed on an especially large scale) and 313 (forgery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
