The Supreme Court ruled against a defendant accused of making a false report of an embassy arson attac

The Supreme Court has heard a cassation appeal against Ulfan Aliyev, who is accused of knowingly making a false report to police about his intention to set fire to the Israeli embassy in Baku. As reported by Oxu.Az, the decision was announced at a hearing chaired by Judge Rashad Abdulov. The court dismissed the appeal.
According to the indictment, U. Aliyev (born 1990) called the 102 service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in January 2025 and stated that he would set fire to the Israeli embassy building and plant a bomb in a police station.
He was finally charged under Article 216 (knowingly making a false report of an act of terrorism) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Baku Court of Grave Crimes sentenced Ulfan Aliyev to five years in prison.
