The Main Directorate conducted an operation: 43 kg of drugs seized

The Main Directorate for Combating Drugs seized 43 kg of narcotics from illegal circulation as a result of an operation.

As reported by Report, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the department’s officers disrupted the activities of a group of individuals involved in smuggling drugs into the country.

During the operational activities conducted in the Astara and Garadagh districts, Ali Mammadov, Ravan Huseynov, and Ilkin Akhmedov, previously convicted of premeditated murder and theft, were detained. A total of 43 kg 300 grams of marijuana laced with harmful substances was found and seized from them.

According to the investigation, the detainees entered into a criminal conspiracy with Iranian citizens, whose identities are currently being established, to purchase the drugs for sale and plan to deliver them to various addresses.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact, and the court has ordered the detainees to be placed under arrest as a preventive measure.
