Customs officers prevented an attempt to smuggle over 100 kg of marijuana

As a result of measures taken by officers of the Astara Customs Department, an especially large quantity of the narcotic was discovered and seized from illegal circulation, Oxu.Az reports, citing the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.

At the Astara customs post, a vehicle carrying mixed dried fruits was thoroughly inspected using a stationary X-ray machine and a sniffer dog.

During the inspection, marijuana with a net weight of 112 kg 529 g, concealed from customs control, was discovered under the dried fruit in the vehicle.

An investigation is underway.
