Arrested on charges of sexual exploitation of women

Two women have been arrested in Azerbaijan on charges of sexually exploiting women, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs. 28-year-old E.G. and 27-year-old H.G. (designations) were detained by the Main Directorate for Combating Human Trafficking.
According to the investigation, one of the suspects, under the guise of employment, trafficked Azerbaijani citizens to Turkey. There, the women’s documents were confiscated, they were detained under threat and coercion, and forced into prostitution. The second suspect operated online, recruiting women for prostitution through the Telegram channel Escortazofficial and the website Escortaze.com. If they refused, she threatened to distribute personal and incriminating materials.
The investigation also established that part of the proceeds from the crime was transferred abroad in cryptocurrency to members of a transnational criminal group. By court order, both defendants were remanded in custody for four months. The investigation is ongoing.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs urged citizens affected by human trafficking to contact their relevant department or the 152 hotline, emphasizing that confidentiality is guaranteed.
