Two wanted individuals extradited to Azerbaijan

Two defendants on the international wanted list have been extradited to Azerbaijan, Oxu.Az reports, citing the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office. The extradition of Azerbaijani citizens Shahruddin Goylyarov and Elshad Aleskerov was carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family, and Criminal Matters of October 7, 2002.

The petitions of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Azerbaijan Republic were granted by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.

According to the materials of the criminal case being heard in the Salyan District Court, Shahruddin Goylyarov is accused of violating traffic regulations and operating a vehicle, which resulted in the death of a person through negligence. He was placed on the international wanted list for evading trial and hiding from justice.

As part of a criminal case being investigated by the Sumgayit City Police Department, E. Aleskerov has been found to have committed fraud, causing significant damage in the amount of 15,000 manat. A decision was made to charge him, but he absconded from the investigation and was placed on the international wanted list.

Both individuals were transported to Azerbaijan under a special escort from the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.

Corrective proceedings regarding these facts are currently ongoing.
