The Milli Majlis Human Rights Committee discussed a new draft law

On April 28, the Milli Majlis Human Rights Committee held a meeting via videoconference, Trend reports, citing the Milli Majlis Press and Public Relations Department. Opening the meeting, committee chairman Zahid Oruj noted that the agenda included a draft law on amendments to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Citizens’ Appeals” (first reading).
Informing the audience about the matter, the committee chairman emphasized that the main goal of the amendments to the draft law is to further improve the legal framework for e-government mechanisms and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of public administration. The draft law provides for more flexible and transparent management of citizen appeals through the Electronic Government Information System (EGIS), improved service quality, and enhanced digitalization. At the same time, the amendments to the draft law will eliminate duplicative provisions, streamline procedures, and more effectively implement government regulation.
During the discussions, committee members Nagif Gamzayev, Azer Allahveranov, Hikmet Mamedov, Mubariz Gurbanli, Vugar Rahimzade, Sevil Mikayilova, and Elman Nasirov expressed their opinions on the bill, as well as comments and suggestions.
Following the discussions, the bill, which was included on the agenda of the online meeting, was recommended for first reading to the plenary session of the Milli Majlis.
