A former hospital department head convicted of selling medications and forging documents

Irada Demirova, the former head of the infectious diseases department at the Abbas Sahhat Hospital, which operates under the Ganja United City Hospital, has been sentenced.
According to Oxu.Az, at a hearing in the Ganja City Court, the defendant was charged under Articles 308.1 (abuse of office) and 313 (forgery) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
Under Article 308.1, she was fined 2,000 manat. Regarding the other charge, no punishment was imposed due to the expiration of the criminal liability period.
According to the case materials, she was accused of selling medications intended for YAŞAT Foundation entities and of issuing forged medical documents.
During the court hearing, Irada Demirova pleaded not guilty to the charges.
