A verdict handed down for a person accused of distributing religious extremist materials

The trial of Orkhan Fazil oglu Sayadov, accused of producing, storing, and distributing religious extremist materials, as well as inciting religious hatred and enmity, has concluded.

According to Oxu.Az, the verdict was read at a trial in the Ganja City Court presided over by Judge Liza Khanmamedova.

According to the verdict, the defendant was sentenced to five years in prison. He will serve his sentence in a general regime correctional facility.

According to the charges, the State Security Service brought charges against Orkhan Sayadov under Articles 167-3.1 (production, storage or distribution of religious extremist materials) and 283.1-1 (incitement to religious hatred and enmity committed on the basis of religious enmity, religious radicalism or religious fanaticism) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
