In Baku’s Narimanov district, police officers foiled an attempt to illegally distribute a large quantity of narcotics, seizing over 9 kg of prohibited substances and over 1,000 methadone pills, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During operational activities conducted by officers from the 18th police station of the Narimanov District Police Department, 42-year-old Samir Mirzayev, a previously convicted felon, was detained. Approximately 5 kg of marijuana, over 4 kg of opium, hashish, heroin, and 1,112 methadone pills were seized from the car in which Mirzayev was a passenger.
The detainee stated that he intended to deliver the narcotics to various addresses for further illegal distribution within the capital.
A criminal case has been opened. The court has ordered Samir Mirzayev to remain in custody.
