{"id":37368,"date":"2024-10-22T11:06:44","date_gmt":"2024-10-22T07:06:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iolr.org\/?p=37368"},"modified":"2024-10-22T14:47:52","modified_gmt":"2024-10-22T10:47:52","slug":"criminal-case-initiated-on-the-fact-of-violations-at-the-academy-of-sciences-of-azerbaijan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iolr.org\/?p=37368&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Criminal case initiated on the fact of violations at the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of violations at the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trend.az\/azerbaijan\/society\/3959498.html\">Trend<\/a> reports with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor General&#8217;s Office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">It is noted that based on the materials received from the Accounts Chamber of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a criminal case was initiated in the Main Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General on the basis of violations identified in the activities of the National Academy of Sciences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">As a result of audits of the activities of this structure for 2020-2023, significant suspicions were revealed of misuse of public funds by officials on a large scale, as well as other offenses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Based on the investigation of the above facts, a criminal case has been opened under Articles 179.4 (theft or embezzlement on an especially large scale) and 308.2 (abuse of power) of the Criminal Code; a preliminary investigation is underway.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of violations at the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor General&#8217;s Office.
