{"id":39587,"date":"2025-04-24T16:06:43","date_gmt":"2025-04-24T12:06:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iolr.org\/?p=39587"},"modified":"2025-04-24T16:06:40","modified_gmt":"2025-04-24T12:06:40","slug":"azerbaijani-citizen-extradited-from-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iolr.org\/?p=39587&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Azerbaijani citizen extradited from Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">An Azerbaijani citizen who was on the international wanted list has been extradited from Ukraine, <a href=\"https:\/\/report.az\/ru\/proisshestviya\/nahodivshijsya-v-mezhdunarodnom-rozyske-grazhdanin-azerbajdzhana-ekstradirovan-iz-ukrainy\/\">Report<\/a> informs citing the press service of the Prosecutor General&#8217;s Office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">In accordance with the requirements of the European Convention on Extradition of December 13, 1957, the petition of the Prosecutor General&#8217;s Office for the extradition of Azerbaijani citizen Hikmet Khanlar oglu Veliyev was satisfied by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Reasonable suspicions were established that Veliyev had committed a crime under Article 182.4 (extortion for the purpose of obtaining property on an especially large scale) of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijan Republic, in connection with which a decision was made to bring him in as an accused and put him on the international wanted list.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Veliyev was detained on the territory of Ukraine and today was delivered to Azerbaijan accompanied by a special convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An Azerbaijani citizen who was on the international wanted list has been extradited from Ukraine, Report informs citing the press service of the Prosecutor General&#8217;s Office.
