The incident occurred on July 20 on the service territory of the Lankaran border detachment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">During patrolling, border guards noticed an unknown person trying to cross the border from Iran in the direction of the Republic of Azerbaijan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The offender did not obey the border guards&#8217; order to stop and, taking advantage of the darkness and wooded area, dropped the packages he had with him and managed to escape into Iranian territory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">As a result of the search and operational activities, marijuana with a total weight of 18 kg 100 g was found at the scene.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Azerbaijani Border Service prevented an attempt to smuggle a large consignment of narcotics across the state border, Oxu.Az reports with reference to the State Border Service.
