He is accused of extorting money from the heads of more than 20 different government agencies through threats and pressure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/oxu.az\/ru\/kriminal\/vynesen-prigovor-glavredu-sajta-obvinyaemomu-v-vymogatelstve\">Oxu.Az<\/a>, the verdict was announced during a hearing chaired by Judge Kamil Aliyev of the Baku Court of Grave Crimes. The defendant was sentenced to five years and six months in prison.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Gabil Taghiyev was detained by officers of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in September 2024 based on citizen complaints.
