{"id":42944,"date":"2026-04-16T17:35:16","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T13:35:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.iolr.org\/?p=42944"},"modified":"2026-04-16T17:35:16","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T13:35:16","slug":"an-azerbaijani-citizen-accused-of-serious-crimes-will-be-extradited-from-turkey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iolr.org\/?p=42944&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"An Azerbaijani citizen accused of serious crimes will be extradited from Turkey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">An Azerbaijani citizen accused of serious crimes will be extradited from Turkey, <a href=\"https:\/\/oxu.az\/ru\/kriminal\/iz-turcii-ekstradiruyut-obvinyaemogo-v-tyazhkih-prestupleniyah-grazhdanina-azerbajdzhana\">Oxu.Az<\/a> reports, citing the press service of the Prosecutor General&#8217;s Office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">It is noted that, in accordance with the requirements of the European Convention on Extradition, competent Turkish authorities granted the Prosecutor General&#8217;s Office&#8217;s request to extradite Azerbaijani citizen Sabuter Adil oglu Babayev.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">During the investigation, reasonable suspicions arose that Babayev was involved in the smuggling of large quantities of narcotic, psychotropic, and potent substances through Azerbaijan&#8217;s customs point as part of an organized criminal group, as well as the illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, and sale of these substances.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">A decision was made to prosecute Sabuter Babayev. He was placed on the international wanted list for evading investigation.
