Azerbaijan’s Military Prosecutor’s Office has issued a statement regarding the reports on the arrest of former officer of the Prosecutor’s Office Vugar Mammadli.
The Military Prosecutor’s Office told APA that according to the results of the internal inquiry conducted upon the request of Former Chief of the Naval Forces’ Filling Service, imprisoned Lieutenant Colonel Kazim Asgarov on inspector Vugar Mammadli who acted as a member of the investigation team on the criminal case considered by the Military Prosecutor’s Office against the Naval Forces’ group of officials acting in concert under the leadership of Former Commander of Azerbaijani Naval Forces, Vice Admiral Shahin Sultanov, Mammadli was dismissed from his post in October 2015, a criminal case was launched against him under the Criminal Code, and upon being completed, the investigation was sent to Baku Military Court.
