In the village of Saray, Absheron region, the activities of an underground workshop producing counterfeit household chemicals that pose a danger to human health were suppressed, Report informs citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the department’s information, products of well-known trademarks were processed in the underground workshop; the concentration of harmful chemicals in the final products significantly exceeded the norm prescribed for domestic use. Those involved in the illegal production, Tural Museyibov, Vusal Khankishiyev, Shamil Elchiyev, Elnur Aslanov, Ilgar Akhmedov and Yashar Osmanov, were detained.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that gang members organized the wholesale sale of these products through retail outlets located in the Nasimi district of Baku and in various regions of the country. During the inspection of the enterprise, the police seized finished products that the attackers intended to package under the well-known trademarks Perwol, Peros, Fairy, Domestos, Ariel, Ace, Silk, Elidor, Head & Shoulders, etc., as well as equipment, raw materials, packaging materials and labels .

In 2023, in Azerbaijan, narcotic substances of various types with a total weight of 4 tons 464 kilograms were withdrawn from circulation (of which 2 tons 727 kilograms of marijuana and 1 ton 308 kilograms of heroin), Trend reports with reference to the head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan Elshad Hajiyev, according to which 385 kilograms of the psychotropic substance methamphetamine were also seized from circulation.

It is noted that as of January 2024, 36,659 people suffering from drug addiction are under dispensary control in Azerbaijan. Over the past year, 405 people were admitted to medical institutions for treatment. Of these, 8,458 people are users of several types of drugs. Of the 36,659 drug users, 802 are women.
