It is detained and took to investigative body Islam Manafov, a driver, who knocked down employees of the police and the MES and escaped from scene of incident, 1news.az reports.
Presently it is going on necessary investigatory actions on the case.
Azerbaijan’s Garadagh district court on 8 September 2016 refused to consider the case of former OMON (special purpose police units) members Elchin Amiraslanov, Arif Kazimov and Safa Poladov.
An appeal will be filed against this decision, a lawyer E. Sadigov told APA.
All the three OMON members were sentenced to death in 1996. Later their capital punishment was commuted to life in prison. They appealed to the Garadagh district court for their lifetime sentence to be replaced with 20 years in prison.
On 7 September 2016 Azerbaijan’s Lankaran Court of Grave Crimes held a hearing on the criminal case of the former investigator of the country’s Zardab District Prosecutor’s Office, Rufat Safarov, lawyer Bahruz Bayramov told APA.
During the hearing a public prosecutor demanded a ten-year prison sentence for Rufat Safarov.
The hearing will be continued on September 8, 2016
