On 4 October 2016 in the Baku Court on Grave Crimes completed an examination of the criminal case over E. Mustafaoglu, a theologian, former division’s chief of the Department of the Muslims of Caucasus, APA reports.

Court process held in close regime.

According to the lawyer A. Mammadov, court examination has completed and prosecutor asked time to prepare for his speech.

Court session is scheduled on 18 October 2016.

Agency note that E. Mustafaoglu was arrested in 2014 under article 274 (treason) of the Criminal Code.

As result of operational searching actions conducted by Sumgait police department there was detained a person involved in illegal drug trafficking, APA reports with reference to the press-office of the MIA.

In course of search of a yard of some V. Najafov there were discovered 9 bushes of hemps with total weight about of 42 kg and at his home was detected 3.04 kg heroin and 3.5 kg of dried marijuana.

In his testimonies V. Najafov said that he had planted the bushes of hemp with purpose of further sale of drugs produced.

Criminal case on appropriate article of the Criminal Code has been instituted by the police.
