Attempt to poison Patriarch Ilia II

There has been tried to poison the Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II, according to the Georgian TV channel “Rustavi 2”, haqqin.az reports.

According to its information, there was detained a head of property management service of the Patriarchate and the Director of the Medical center of Saints Joachim and Anne’s the father George Mamaladze. The trial took place on the eve of the Tbilisi City Court.

The special operation to detain Mamaladze was held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Tbilisi International Airport on his way to Germany to the patriarch. “Rustavi 2”, citing a source, reported that a few hours after the arrest Mamaladze in Berlin left the head of the State Guard Service Anzor Chubinidze. He returned on Saturday, 11 February, 2017, with the head of the Security Service of the Patriarch Soso Okhanashvili. Within a few hours in the General Prosecutor’s Office conducted an interrogation Okhanashvili, who the day before he returned to Berlin. Who guards the patriarch strengthened.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a candidate of the Democratic Party, is winning the third time the presidential elections in Turkmenistan with 97.69% of the vote, according to the preliminary data of the Central Election Commission, said on 13 February 2017 the head of the CEC, haqqin.az reports.

Earlier Central Electoral Commission said that 92.27% voters participated in the election.   

According to the CEC there were taken part eight candidates.

International observers confirm that Turkmenistan’s presidential elections were open and transparent.
