On 15 May 2017 there was filed an appeal against the verdict handed down by the court against the ex-Minister of Health of Azerbaijan Ali Insanov.
APA reports with reference to lawyer Togrul Babayev that the appeal was submitted to the court on May 15, 2017. The complaint contains a request to acquit A. Insanov.
The agency notes that some time ago in the Garadagh district court the trial of the criminal case of ex-Minister of Health of Azerbaijan Ali Insanov ended. According to the verdict of the court, Ali Insanov was imprisoned for 7 years and 5 days.
A new criminal case was brought against Ali Insanov under articles 234.1 (illegal acquisition or storage without the purpose of selling narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances in excess of the amount necessary for personal consumption), 315.2 (use of violence dangerous to life or health, against a representative of authority In the performance of his official duties, or the use of violence dangerous to life or health, with respect to his close relatives, as well as the threat of such violence) and 317.2.1 (manufacturing, storage, concealment, carrying or use of prohibited items by persons held in prisons or detention centers).
