The preliminary investigation has been completed in the criminal case of Vakhid Gashimov, who worked as the director of grain products plant No. 1, and his driver and security guard Gulu Mukhtarov, accused of murders committed 25 years ago, haqqin.az reports. The materials on the criminal case were sent to the Sumgayit Court of Serious Crimes for consideration. The case is being considered by Judge Fakhmina Gumbatov, the preparatory hearing is scheduled for May 2, 2024.

On February 7, 1998, an unknown person shot Garib Ibadov with a firearm. On June 20 of the same year, an unknown person shot and killed Ramiz Nadirov with a firearm. Investigators came to the conclusion that the above crimes were committed by the same person. Therefore, the criminal cases were combined into one proceeding. Further investigation was entrusted to the investigative department of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Later, another criminal case, initiated on December 6, 2001, was sent to the investigative department. We are talking about the discovery of the body of an unknown man with signs of violence on the Baku-Gazakh road. It was established that the murdered man’s name was Dadash Huseynov. It also turned out that he personally killed Garib Ibadov and Ramiz Nadirov.

During the investigation, investigators began to suspect that the mastermind of the murders was Vahid Gashimov, the ex-director of grain food plant No. 1. Having received what he wanted, he decided to get rid of Dadash Huseynov: the latter began to blackmail Gashimov. The director of the plant “ordered” the blackmailer Miralam Seidaliev and Matlaba Farzalieva. But Dadashev was eventually killed by Gashimov’s driver-bodyguard Gulu Mukhtarov.

Vakhid Gashimov and Gulu Mukhtarov were arrested. As for Miralam Seidaliev and Matlaba Farzalieva, they are no longer alive at the moment. The investigation is ongoing.
