The State Security Service (SSS) took legal measures against citizens suspected of trying to create an artificial stir in society. As Report was told in the State Security Service, they are Aliyev Rashad Balaga oglu (born 1977) and Melikov Parviz Ramiz oglu (born 1973).

These individuals are accused of disseminating disinformation on social networks about the alleged escalation of tension on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border, deaths and injuries among military personnel of the Azerbaijani army, putting military units and heavy artillery weapons on alert, imposing a curfew on the territory of the Lachin region, etc.

“The State Security Service prevented the spread of such disinformation and took the necessary legal measures against the persons mentioned,” the statement said.

In Baku, three detained drug couriers were found to have about 18 kg of narcotic drugs, oxu.az reports with reference to a message from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is noted that as a result of regular operational activities carried out by police officers in Baku, previously convicted Javid Mammadov, Almas Aflan and Aziz Maharramov, who were involved in drug trafficking, were detained.

More than 15 kg of marijuana was found in J. Mammadov’s possession. During a personal search of A. Aflan and A. Maharramov and a search of the latter’s car, about 3 kg of marijuana was discovered.

All three detainees stated that they were involved in drug trafficking by an Iranian citizen, whose identity is under investigation. Currently, efforts to detain other members of the drug network are ongoing.

Law enforcement agencies are working on information received from the Accounts Chamber. As APA reports, Chairman of the Accounts Chamber Vugar Gulmammadov said this during the discussion of the “Report on the activities of the Accounts Chamber of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2023” at today’s meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship.

He said that the Accounts Chamber appealed to the Prosecutor General’s Office based on the results of 8 audits and to the State Security Service (SSS) based on the results of 1 audit. Information on 4 cases is related to crimes in the construction industry. According to information received from the State Security Service, based on the results of one audit, the criminal case is ongoing. A return of 67.4 million manats was provided, of which law enforcement agencies provided a return of 700 thousand manats.

On April 6 and 7, police officers discovered more than 35 kg of narcotic drugs on the territory of Azerbaijan, oxu.az reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It is noted that as a result of the operational activities carried out, more than 4.6 kg of heroin, more than 27 kg of marijuana, about 4 kg of methamphetamine and opium were seized from illicit trafficking.

An audit report was published based on the results of external state financial control on the audit of public investments allocated to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for some construction projects. When preparing a conclusion on the draft state budget for 2024, a discrepancy of 71 million manats was identified in net financial assets. As APA-Economics reports, this was reported to the Accounts Chamber.

Employees of the internal affairs bodies of Azerbaijan ensured the detection of 79 crimes registered in the country during the period from April 6 to 7, as well as 6 unsolved crimes related to previous periods, Trend reports with reference to information disseminated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.

Employees of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan handed over to representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan five members of an organized criminal group who arrived in Bishkek to carry out a contract killing and were detained in the Kyrgyz capital. The press center reports that five Azerbaijani citizens arrived in Kyrgyzstan on March 20 with the aim of “spreading and strengthening their criminal influence,” including “criminal ideology, as well as committing a particularly serious crime – contract killing.”

According to the Kyrgyz side, all of them are members of a “transnational organized crime group” and are involved in “illegal actions related to the illegal activities of the organized crime group.”
