Combat corruption

In the first half of this year have been investigated and forwarded to the appropriate courts 100 criminal cases related to corruption in respect of 200 individuals.

According to the APA, Prosecutor General Z. Garalov said about it at the operational meeting on the results of the first half of 2013 . The Prosecutor General stressed that the organization of the fight against corruption as a dangerous manifestation of organized crime is one of the most important tasks facing the Prosecutor of the Azerbaijan Republic. Office for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General’s Office has investigated and submitted for consideration to the appropriate courts of 100 criminal cases related to corruption in respect of 200 individuals. For 14 of the 3237 complaints received by the hotline “161” were lodged criminal cases under various provisions of the Criminal Code, under investigation, 4 of them – a preliminary investigation was completed and sent for review to the appropriate courts.

Office for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General’s Office has given instructions to all relevant actors to take all necessary steps to strengthen anti-corruption cases, prevent the negative phenomena and their underlying causes.

The Prosecutor General also noted that in connection with the presidential decree of 22 June 2009 “On strengthening a fight against offenses in connection with corruption in the management of state and municipal property and assets”, appropriate measures were taken, which were filed on 2 criminal case.

It was instructed to strengthen combat to anti-corruption offenses in the area of state and municipal property and funds.
