Court reduces Yadigar Sadigov’s prison sentence

On 13 January 2015 the Baku Supreme Court has held a hearing to consider an appeal filed by imprisoned deputy chairman of Musavat Party Yadigar Sadigov, reports APA with reference to his lawyer Adil Ismayilov.

According to the verdict, the appeal was partially sustained, and Sadigov’s prison sentence was reduced from 4 years to 3 years and 6 months.

Yadigar Sadigov was detained on June 27, 2013. He is charged with hooliganism.

The Lankaran District Court sentenced Sadigov to 6 years in prison. On July 22, 2014 the Baku Court of Appeal reduced his prison sentence to 4 years. Later on, he filed an appeal to the Supreme Court.
