Detained while taking bribe

The Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General has investigated appeals made by residents of Bilasuvar and Jalilabad districts regarding the illegal actions of the chairperson of no. 30 Medical-Social Expert Commission (MSEC) of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population Khoshbakht Aghayeva, APA reports with reference to Press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

There are grounds that Khoshbakht Aghayeva demanded AZN 600 from Masalli resident for determining degree of her sister’s disability, took AZN 500 as a bribe at her office located in the administrative building of no. 30 MSEC in Jalilabad district on March 13, 2015, suspiciously demanded or received different amounts of money from individuals for executing her service tasks. She faced charges under article 311.1 (taking bribes) of the Criminal Code and was sentenced to pre-trial detention.

During the investigation conducted in Aghayeva’s office, various documents were found and seized as evidence.

Investigation is underway on the case.

Along with the above mentioned, the Anti-Corruption Department under General the Prosecutor General will conduct necessary investigation on the 52 applications received from Bilasuvar and Jalilabad residents in connection with the corruption offenses committed by Aghayeva and pass relevant decisions.
