Foreign citizens detained for immigration law violations

Employees of the Azerbaijani State Migration Service have detained ten Bangladeshi citizens for violations of the country’s immigration law, APA reports.

It was revealed that Bangladeshi citizen Miah Firus organized illegal migration on the Azerbaijan-Turkey-Europe route through the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Miah Firus and Bangladeshi citizen Baharul Babar, who is living in Turkey, tried to organize illegal migration of Bangladeshi citizens Bepari MD Uzzal, Amin Mohammad Nurul, Hasan MD Mahibul, Kudus MD and Hasan Mahmudul to Turkey through Nakhchivan. They deceived their compatriots, brought them to Azerbaijan and settled in different locations. Employees of the State Migration Service detained these persons along with the organizer Miah Firus while attempting to leave for the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Also, during the actions taken against illegal migration, Bangladeshi citizens living illegally in the country — Ahmad Rubel, Ali Muslim, Uddin Mohammad Jamir, Ahmad Mohammad Foysal — were detained. It became clear that Bangladeshi citizen Nahid Neovaz had sent them to Azerbaijan so that they could join the Iran-Turkey-Europe illegal migration flow. Nahid’s illegal acts were exposed by the State Migration Service and he was deported from Azerbaijan on 25 January this year.

Over the last 5 months, the Migration Service detained 5 more groups who had helped foreigners join the Iran-Turkey-Europe migration flow through Azerbaijani territory.
