Judge on the case of the former head of Azerkhalcha

Earlier it was reported that the court changed the measure of restraint for the former head of Azerkhalcha OJSC Vidadi Muradov, accused of embezzling 22 million manats, and released him from custody, haqqin.az reports.

Later, in response to a request from the Internet portal in connection with this case, the judge of the Baku Grave Crimes Court, presiding in the case of V. Muradov, A. Hajiyev stated that, given that the defendant for malfeasance under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan: 79.4 (misappropriation or embezzlement, committed with the infliction of especially large damage), 213.3 (tax evasion on an especially large scale), 308.2 (abuse of official powers that entailed grave consequences), 313 (forgery) V. Muradova has an oncological disease and he needs in treatment, the measure of restraint in the form of arrest was changed to the measure of restraint “being under the control of the police”.

The change in the preventive measure does not release Vidadi Muradov from liability and does not affect the nature of the case in any way. The criminal case of V. Muradov will be considered by the court in accordance with the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Law, the judge emphasized.
