A sentence has been handed down to an athlete who injured a war veteran

A verdict has been passed against athlete Ravan Nabizadeh, who injured an employee of the State Agency for Medical and Social Expertise and Rehabilitation under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, World War II veteran Namiga Babayev. Report informs, at a hearing held in the Binagadi District Court, R. Nabizadeh was sentenced to 3 years and 1 month of restriction of freedom by wearing an electronic bracelet.

The incident occurred in May 2023. A professional martial arts athlete, a participant in the Patriotic War, R. Nabizade came to the commission to determine the degree of disability. He tried to pass the medical examination out of turn. An employee of the State Agency for Medical and Social Expertise and Rehabilitation, senior instructor N. Babaev approached him with the intention of calming him down and explaining the situation, but was attacked by the athlete. As a result, N. Babayev’s jaw was broken and his teeth were knocked out.

Nabizada was charged under articles 127.2.3 (intentional infliction of minor bodily harm) and 221 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijan Republic.
