Last year, the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan revealed inflated and unjustified payments in the amount of 726 million manat

In 2023, as a result of the work done by the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan, inflated and unjustified payments in the amount of 726 million manats were identified, and during inspections, the perpetrators returned 3.6 million manats of this amount. As APA-Economics reports, this is stated in the report on the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers in 2023.

The report states that the guilty parties ensured the return to the budget of 3.6 million manats out of 8 million manats of inflated payments made due to non-compliance with the requirements of regulations governing the expenditure of funds allocated from the state budget. For administrative violations committed in budgetary organizations identified during inspections, fines in the amount of 57.3 thousand manats were imposed on 59 officials, and the payment of these funds to the state budget was ensured.

During inspections carried out in 90 of the controlled facilities, inflated and unjustified payments in the amount of 718.5 million manats were identified, and the inspection materials were sent by the ministry to the relevant law enforcement agencies to take appropriate measures.
