151 kg of drugs delivered from Iran to Azerbaijan worth 5 million manat were seized

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Combating Drugs conducted an operation called “Narkotələ-40,” APA reports citing the ministry’s press service. Thus, the Main Directorate for Combating Drugs during February carried out more than 40 operations in capitals and regions against drug trafficking. As a result, 52 people and 3 members of an organized group were detained.

10 of them are persons involved in the supply of drugs in the country. In total, 151 kilograms of narcotic drugs worth 5 million manats and 4,751 tablets with psychotropic substances were seized.

During the preliminary interrogation, it was established that the majority of those detained illegally acquired drugs brought to Azerbaijan from Iran, mainly for sale in the capital.
