Police warn: bank card data may fall into the hands of fraudsters

Recently, cases have become more frequent when fraudsters obtain personal data of citizens’ bank cards by making calls from fake foreign phone numbers, oxu.az reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.

It is noted that in order to combat such crimes, police officers installed information signs near public catering facilities and ATMs in the city of Sumgait in order to cyber-educate citizens, especially people who have reached retirement age. They contain detailed information about the most common methods used by cyber fraudsters.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs calls on citizens to be more vigilant and report such cases to the police.
