Smuggling of a large amount of heroin prevented

According to the risk indicators, the employees of the Operations Department of the Main Directorate for Combating Customs offenses and Tovuz Customs Office carried out successful operation on August 8. In “Sinig Korpu” customs post, they seized 116 packages of light brown powder- drugs under the floor of the trailer (SCHMİTZ) of Georgian “DAF FT XF 95 480” truck driven by Turkish citizen Ates Rifat Ahmed who was moving from Iran to Georgia through Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani Justice Ministry Forensic Examination Centre said that net weight of heroin was 69.6 kg.

Search operations and investigation are underway on the fact.
