Ministry of Internal Affairs: Persons involved in theft of funds from bank cards were detained

Police officers detained three people who stole money from citizens’ bank cards. As Report was informed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, employees of the Main Police Department of the city of Baku detained a suspect in fraud, Rovshan Rahimov (born 1973). During the investigation, it turned out that Rahimov approached citizens at ATMs, allegedly with the aim of providing assistance, then obtained their bank card information and stole funds in their accounts.

Employees of the Absheron district police department detained previously convicted Vilad Aliyev (born 2000). The detainee obtained the bank card details of five citizens in several settlements of the Absheron region in various ways, after which he withdrew money from their accounts.

A resident of the city of Mingachevir, Ramil Salmanov (born 1996), was detained on similar charges. He was found to have committed cyber fraud against five people.

Investigations into the facts are ongoing.
