The court sentenced the accused of treason to 17.5 years in prison

In the Baku Court of Serious Crimes, the judgement of Aydin Zakiyev, accused under the article of treason, was read out. Report informs, at a meeting chaired by Judge Mahmud Agalarov, the guilt of the accused was found proven. By a court decision, A. Zakiyev was sentenced to 17 and a half years in prison.

It is noted that the State Security Service detained Aydin Zakiyev in 2021 on the basis of reasonable suspicions that, to the detriment of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, state security and defense capability of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he assisted representatives of the Armenian special services in carrying out hostile activities against our country.
