The prosecutor’s office and the Ministry of Finance revealed a large number of offenses at the college

Deputy Director of Goychay State College of Management and Technology for Academic Affairs, Acting Director Shahin Aliyev has been relieved of his position, oxu.az reports. The corresponding decision was made as a result of an investigation conducted by the State Agency for Science and Higher Education of Azerbaijan.

It is noted that in parallel with the above-mentioned state agency, the activities of the college have been checked by the district prosecutor’s office and the Ministry of Finance for several months. As a result of these checks, a large number of offenses were identified that could be regarded as criminal acts.

This list includes many illegal cases – from embezzling government funds to accepting bribes from students.

An investigation conducted by the Ministry of Finance showed that most of the equipment belonging to the educational institution had become unusable. Nevertheless, equipment and fuel for the college were periodically purchased. It is noted that the funds allocated for the purchase of fuel for idle equipment are estimated at several thousand manats. According to available data, since these facts did not escape the attention of the prosecutor’s office, the investigation into the case continues.
