State Border Service officers prevented drug smuggling from Iran to Azerbaijan

Employees of the State Border Service (SBS) prevented the smuggling of a large shipment of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan, Report informs citing the State Border Service.

The incident occurred on March 20, 2024 at 23:36 on the service territory of the Goradiz border detachment. State Border Service officers discovered a rubber boat on the bank of the Araz River containing drugs with a total weight of 102 kg (89 kg 940 g of marijuana, 4 kg 660 g of heroin, 7 kg 400 g of methamphetamine) and 8,010 packages of Methadone M 40 tablets.
